Eloquence–what a shame! The words that really matter, that make people melt or go off to war or commit themselves to some inner vision, they tend to be so common as to be crude or vulgar. Hammer: how simple, but what it could build! Child: how ordinary, but its possibilities! Painter, writer, thespian, friend, enemy: words for banners and billboards, but what they say about a person, about what she might become, what she must become, or be, if this word of hers is held dear by her! The eloquent man or woman is usually hiding something; perhaps the fact that he really has nothing to hide, no really deep secrets, no real depth at all.
A Word about Words IV of XIII, or, Eloquence, what a shame!

Albert Einstein supposedly said “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.”❤️

Oh, how often I have learned how stupid I am about manifold things by attempting to explain it!
Then again, perhaps some things cannot be “explained” even by beautiful simplicity.
Thank you, Melissa. I hope your days are joyful.

Maybe not stupid, but we have a lot more to learn.🤭 And yes, the mysteries of life are some of the best things. Today is wonderful. Hope yours is, too.❤️

The days have been light, with a courage for the heaviness. I was just jesting and poking at myself!

I was right with you until you said the eloquent man or woman is hiding ng something. While a complete doofus in many ways, I’m nothing if not eloquent ~ and I considered der it my job here on 3D to pioneer a mindset in which secrets are unnecessary. What are we trying to hide ~ the truth?

I do personally believe in meaningful and beautiful eloquence. Your own eloquence I would never want to slander. In other words, this piece is not intended to make universal judgements about people’s diverse ways of expressing themselves.
As far as what we, or they, are trying to hide, it can be truth and much else besides. I do not think hiding itself is something condemnable, but it can be, and certain ornaments of speech can be used precisely to hide in such a way. I speak most to myself here, as my own words have been employed as shields and spells and tricks before. Again, these are not condemnable in themselves…but can be.
Thank you for your words to me. It has me think again of the words you read.
