No known cause for the return of faith No visions or sudden insight The gods dead like before, God dead like before The steam still rising and the bodies Still dancing through the steam in oblivion.
The voices echoing all around still Have no chance of getting through to me They are all speaking such plain idiocy. But the shapes of their lips are mesmerizing And of the fate they draw.
A human being-question chasing after both God and nothingness. The internet is a disaster, but our starlessness might teach us something. I welcome our constant experimenting with ourselves with open arms, for ultimately they are attempts of life at living and growing in life. My dwelling is in Key West, while the dwellings of my loves are Indiana, New Mexico, Texas, Massachusetts and Arizona. These spaces are nothing. Love abides and love embraces.

Somehow your comment was in Spam! Pardon the late reply. It is a gift to me to hear the way you spend time with these pieces. Yes, I admit that Dawn in Hades partakes of the fearsome. I hope there is still something liberating to it. Let us continue to cross paths!
Well, there is no laughter in heaven, silly. Heaven frowns upon such gaiety. Reach down… with your right hand to touch your left foot… bending at the waist… remember to do your windmills… this is about you. Not them. A little Dostoyevsky goes a long way. 😘
Hey hey, Pussy Krampus! Yep, most of our heavens are hells wearing some gaudy clothes to the party. It is a lovely challenge to dream of other heavens, and to dream of the melting away of all heavens into the dark earth.
Your exercise routine reminds me of Winston’s in 1984! You’d make a good Big Brother, there!
I love every jot and tittle of Dostoevsky, but The Grand Inquisitor chapter of Karamosov is beyond belief. He called Karamosov his “5th Gospel.” When I reach the Inquisitor, I understand why.
Naw, I didn’t get windmills from 1984; a girl in my hip-hop dance class always said to do ’em which cracked everyone up.
I prefer Animal Farm as far as Orson Wells dystopia goes.
But sure, if you feel “watched” by me now that you have purposely stepped into my peripheral vision, you may think of me as your big sister.
But don’t let it go to your head.
While my attention to detail has always been admired by my former employers, I do have other things to do.
I am not wasting time dreaming of heaven.
Orson Wells! He would surely make good versions of George Orwell’s (Eric Blair) books! Animal Farm is also brilliant.
I love the laugh about your hip-hop dance class. One of my cast mates in the play teaches dance when he’s not in a production. He told me last night, “I’m not teaching another class if it’s not a hip-hop class!” 😃
I love the phrase “I’m not wasting my time dreaming of heaven.” So much confidence!
I know! I realized I pulled a Citizen Kane on ya, too late… I meant George Orwell!! LOL! so much for attention to detail… to be honest I always switch their names before I remember. It’s like a form of dyslexia. I’m probably at my best when my hypocrisy is on my sleeve… best worn like my heart.
I read this this morning… it made me think you’d like it…
Sometimes with One I Love
BY WALT WHITMAN
Sometimes with one I love I fill myself with rage for fear I effuse unreturn’d love,
But now I think there is no unreturn’d love, the pay is certain one way or another
(I loved a certain person ardently and my love was not return’d,
Yet out of that I have written these songs).
❤️
I am so new to Whitman! I’d only read a few poems that I failed to comprehend fully at the time and it’s only recently I’ve truly discovered him. I have much to catch up on, but lately he has emerged magnificent. I can see why you relate to him in such loving ways. I had no clue he was gay until maybe a week ago! How did I never read that before? He is so much more interesting and surprising and human now. I am newly reading The Sea is a Continual Miracle (& other writings)…
My reply is late by now… so Have a good nite! I promise I won’t helicopter you, if I have at all cramped your style, so you can breathe easy!!! ❤️
I love reading you work when I wake up[. This one was a bit scary though.

The poem you recommended to me is one of my lifelong poem-companions. I think of Whitman every day of my life, as though he were a brother or a lover.
