her stillness made me heave

Every being demands attention, and every being is a vortex.

This story is meant for all. May our hearts themselves heave, heave and expand.

I thought things would get better as the world got older and wiser. But it doesn’t matter who you are or where you live danger comes from the strangest of places. In Britain it’s knife crime. We’ve had two more cases of teenagers stabbing other teenagers. A sixteen year old walking through a park in daylight. Killed for no reason by a 17 & 15 year old. Three lives taken. In the other case when the young man was brought to court and charged he said he was so ‘sorry’.
I do wonder if he’s only sorry afterwards because he realises he has a prison sentence. He must have thought about what he was doing. To carry a weapon you must know the consequences of your actions will lead to a prison sentence.

It is a delight to hear from you, Paula, even if it is to hear hard things. I like to think of the mere possibility of the world becoming older and wiser. I suppose the world can become older through the weight history can bring, as aging can come to us as a heaviness. Then wisdom would be a way to learn to lift and carry that weight.

I believe that crime speaks more to the health of the whole (society) than the health of the individual. When we focus too much on the individual with crime we become criminals ourselves, unleashing our righteous fury. Our focus on the individual when it comes to crime should be a rehabilitative focus.

I never know the heart of a person, but I understand how, in your anger, you can assume the depravity of a heart.

      Joy to you always, Paula.
